43 producers and 4 thousands people visiting the Fortezza at Montepulciano where
the Anteprima Vino Nobile (Preview of Vino Nobile) took place on 13-15 Feb ’16.

The vintages that have been poured were:

  • Nobile di Montepulciano 2013 – (a 4 stars vintage)
  • Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva 2012 – (a 5 stars vintage)

The aim to show more and more their fruit and the elegance of the wines are evident through the tasting.

It is also very interesting to see new generations, some of them very young, coming to this world and offering their idea of the ‘Nobile of the future’.

A Nobile that has a long history. It was the first DOCG or at least it had the first DOCG band labelled AA 000001

and it share its primacy with the famous ‘cousin’ Brunello di Montalcino.

NOTE: Both Nobile and Brunello received DOCG with Presidential Decree of 01/07/1980, but the Brunello had been DOC since 28 March 1966, while the Nobile had been DOC since 12 July 1966.
