Now granted, an $18 white doesn’t strike most consumers as a “wine deal.” The thing is, the Andrea Felici Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi immediately moved atop my list of “favorite Italian whites,” and is worth twice the price.

Fabulous floral and tropical aromas? Check. Waves of super-fresh fruit and spot-on acidity meshing on the palate? Check. A delicious, persistent finish? Check, mate.

This mouthwatering beauty can stand right up to porchetta or other roasted pig and would play beautifully with shellfish and vegetable medleys. Available at Pairings, South Lyndale and the Wine Thief.
